The automobile industry never ceases to spring surprises. Given the constant change in car designs, there is never a dull era in the history of car making. There are always significant achievements, scientific developments in car technology; new concepts and models to be introduced to the insatiable buying public. To give you an example of ground breaking achievement in recent times, the 12 hours of Sebring and the 24 hours of Le Mans (2006), were won by the all conquering Audi R10 powered by a turbocharged diesel engine!

Automobile designers are always recognized for their dedication and the great pride with which they approach their jobs. As designers try to out do each other, the motoring public smiles, because the fruits of their labor are then available in show rooms.

The emergence of new materials, the reliance on technology, emission regulations, drag and acceleration concerns have all conspired to be the death of the distinct shape or appearance for popular automobiles.

Despite the challenges, you were able to dig deep, accumulate the required funds, and obtain your car. In no time you would have developed an attachment to your newly acquired object of delight, your little home away from home.

During all the planning, did you stop to think for a moment that your car may be stolen? The players in the automobile industry have recognised that auto theft is on the rise in most urban environments, including Kingston, Jamaica. Insurance companies are now offering information on auto theft, and are seeking to create more informed motor-vehicle owners in an attempt to reduce the scourge which auto theft has become.
