Long
Distance Relationships:
Can The Love Survive?
Relationships
require a lot of work
under normal circumstances, so it is quite
obvious that a long distance relationship
is not for the faint of heart. It's also not
for people with empty pockets for that matter,
as it often requires couples to spend a lot
of money in order to spend time
together.
Joseph Cunningham, a musician,
has been with his girlfriend for four and
half years. He met her while working overseas.
After completing his job there, he moved back
home to Jamaica while his girlfriend went
back home to the United States.
"There's no control when
it comes to a long distant relationship
you
just fall in love with someone who doesn't
live around you," stated Joseph.

Flirting or True Attraction?
Are we truly
attracted to the people we flirt with or do
we flirt just for the sake of flirting? Before
we go into a long debate on the difference
between flirting and true attraction, let's
see if we can at least
identify each of them.
According
to Webster's Dictionary, flirting refers to
amorous behaviour without serious intent and
true attraction speaks to a genuine liking
for someone who holds a particular appeal
and interest. In my humble opinion, the practice
of flirting is very healthy and common, as
evidenced by the
multitude of persons who indulge in it daily.

Race &
Relationships
not as simple as black and white
"But
if your thinking 'bout my baby it don't matter
if your black or white" -
Micheal Jackson
This line has been repeated
the world over by throngs of Michael Jackson
supporters. It has resonated through speakers,
radios and television sets across the globe.
It is, after all, one of the more popular
lyrics of the "gloved one".
The world is often described
as being "black and white". The
simplicity of
this description for two distinct things in
this life also affords a peek into the negative
racial connotations that are embedded in the
deep cracks and creases of our society.
