Francois
St. Juste is living his dream
If
I told you that he graduated from the University
of the West Indies with a degree in physics you
probably wouldn't believe me. Perhaps you wouldn't,
because for the last 20 years he has pretty much
grown to become an icon in Jamaica's bourgeoning
electronic media landscape. His name is Francois
St. Juste and no doubt you've heard him on the
radio proclaiming his signature, "Goooooood
mooooorning Jaaaaamaicaaaaaaa!"
What would possess this natural science major
to enter radio land and remain there for 20 years
with a view of spending another 20? This is clearly
a question that begs an answer and spawns other
questions. What was his early childhood like?
What are the things that drive him to succeed?
What really motivates him to get out of bed to
face the world every day? Buzzz Magazine sat down
with him to find out just that.
"Music is the thing that ultimately brought
me to radio," the smooth disc jock and station
manager of FAME FM replied immediately with a
look of deep satisfaction as he rocks back into
one of those big leather 'managers' chair.
"I started in my teens,"
he continued, "collecting and developing
a love for mixing music. I owned a disco while
on campus and I had this dream of being a guest
on the Hol Plummer Show. My love for music, I
think, began with my parents, who themselves collected
music that they would play on Sundays. After high
school (Wolmer's Boys) I stopped spending money
on sports. I was saving up and literally spending
all my money on 45s and LPs. Even when I wasn't
buying music directly, I was buying something
that was related to music - it was music and things
to do with music."

Tshani
Jaja - Confident, spiritual and beautiful
Her
tone exudes confidence; her smile reflects an
unpretentious air and gives insight into the soul
of a highly motivated and devoted individual.
She is a multi-faceted assortment of personalities,
a self-professed 'balance of extremities'.
She walks with confidence and
endears even the most distant of strangers with
her enchanting persona. Like her employers, she
attracts not by force but rather by quality. Always
reinventing and never conforming, this diminutive
beauty stands tall in any crowd.
When Tshani Jaja, the face behind
the media machinery of the Caribbean's largest
mobile service provider Digicel, was asked to
describe herself, the mild mannered Ardenne High
and University of Technology (UTECH) past student
offered a straight-up answer.
"I think it's from one extreme
to the next with me. There are no grey areas where
I am concerned." In a mere ten minutes, every
strain of doubt concerning the veracity of this
description was removed.
Tshani represents the ideals
of the modern woman: sophistication, corporate
focus and independence without compromising the
more 'traditional' characteristics such as loyalty,
devotion, amiability and a heightened sense of
appreciation for family and love. She is hard
working, pro-family and extremely spiritual.
