The Anatomy of SEXY

Sexy is a concept that is very fluid. In the face of what the media has represented: sexy is the emaciated appeal, long silky hair, barely eats, wears plasters of Make-Up and bling-bling. However, a vast majority of individuals do not relate to that publicized ideal of sexy. The truth is: Sexy is in the eye of the beholder. Each person has qualities that make them sexy. There are some standards, however that most of us use to identify the anatomy of sexy.

The Sexy Smile

A sexy smile goes all the way to the eyes. Healthy teeth help but the real sexy smile brightens the room, and magnetically attracts other smiles. If you think about Julia Roberts, she is a beautiful woman, but when she smiles, her entire demeanor is transformed. 

Sexy Legs

We’re used to seeing these Jergens’ advertisements of runway models with long, slim, tanned legs and firm calves but, guess what, legs don’t have to fit this  description to be considered sexy. Sexy legs come in many sizes, shapes and colours and the best way to create a sexy appeal with the legs you have is to wear clothes and shoes to complement and extenuate your legs…

Aphrodisiacs:
Fact or Fiction?

Can the foods you consume really have a direct impact on your sex life? Science isn’t in total agreement with this notion but it clashes with centuries-old traditions of pursuing sexual enhancement through the use of certain foods. Besides, even science cannot deny that some foods can definitely put you in the ‘mood.’

For centuries now history has been rife with the human pursuit of aphrodisiacs in many forms. Women especially have long prepared love potions to inflame the ardor of their lovers. In many cultures around the world various foods have been  widely touted as aphrodisiacs. Named after Aphrodite, the mythical Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty, an aphrodisiac refers to any food, drink, drug or scent that is said to cause arousal or influence sexual desire. In others words these foods and concoctions that delightfully ignites the libido.

The Ugly Truth About New Year’s Resolutions

Next year, I’ll lose ten pounds… I promise to start going to Church every Sunday… January I’ll start saving every month. We’ve heard them all! Last year, I made a New Year’s resolution to be as fit as a fiddle for the New Year. I also planned on changing my diet and eating habits.

Unfortunately for me the New Year rolled in, and I’ve rolled along with a bulging tummy, weak arms and legs, a muffin top, no upper body  strength, nothing! I went to the gym and did one intense work out and gave up; my body was tired by the 15th minute; can you say “pop dung”. I’m unhealthier than I was a year ago with a mixture of junk food and eating to feed my extravagant cravings of Strawberry Cheese cakes, ice cream and all with no work out scheduled. I failed miserably!

Making the Bathroom a Sultry Sanctuary

As Designers, play with the endless options of mosaic glass tiles, or travertine or rows of slate to add varying texture, Architects play  with the use of light through transoms or bay windows. Bathrooms are now a complete project. They avail themselves to  accent walls for impact and boast high ceilings to accommodate the exquisite chandelier; they have long spans of walls begging to be furnished with a unending slab of granite, punctuated by two artistically mastered glass vessel sinks, lavishly bejeweled by two single spout spigots.

But, for those who can only make a cosmetic change to the bathroom space, those who cannot install the Hans Grohe Rainhead shower or the frameless Glass enclosure, they must apply a more superficial approach to create the sultry and Zen effect on their bathroom space.
