Sister Act –
Keriann and Tanya Lee

One is a loner, the other a social butterfly. Nevertheless, these two sisters have learnt over the years to celebrate their similarities as well as their differences. Both are at the top of their respective games in the competitive media landscape, yet they make time for friends, family, and most importantly, each other.

Buzzz recently caught up with the power pair to find out to what extent their DNAs differ in terms of hobbies, personalities and philosophies on life.

Tanya Taniesha Lee does not look anything like a “book worm” or a poetry guru. With her natural good looks, she could easily pass for a model, but do not tell her that. She’ll hardly take it as a compliment since she does not regard modelling as a serious career.

Though Keriann is also a writer, she stays clear of poetry, which she says is “Tanya’s thing”. “Writing is the part of my job I like the most. I’ve been writing since I was a child but I am nowhere near thinking about getting published. I’m still just putting stuff on paper. I’ll leave it for a long stretch and then I have a burst of inspiration and get back to it.”

David McFarlane –
Thinking Outside the Cereal Box

David McFarlane is a mediator, creative thinker and a student of the human psyche. His current job as Nestlé’s Product Manager for its Cereal Division may not, on the surface, conjure up all these things as requirements, but they are largely essential in the competitive industry of marketing.

In the present era, the mass media often dictate that things and persons of interest should be outrageous and sometimes “edgy”. In all of this, we sometimes forget that there is greatness in simplicity and achieving what is considered the “norm” and making it exceptional. This is where McFarlane excels.

After leaving Jamaica College, McFarlane’s career path was geared towards accounting, which he pursued. In 1999, joined the Nestlé team, becoming apart of the accounting staff that dealt with sales administration as well as other duties. He had the opportunity to do some temp work overseeing the breakfast cereal portfolio and this sparked his desire to permanently move from accounting to the world of marketing. The husband and father of one has just finished a degree in Management Studies, with an emphasis on marketing.
